You will be…

  • An experienced project manager with proven technology project management capability.
  • Someone with a strong awareness of relevant methods and tools including project analysis methods.
  • Able to thrive in an environment of uncertainty and change.
  • Comfortable defining and managing digital transformation projects.
  • Familiar with the challenges and rigour of software and solution development / deployment
  • Formally qualified in one or more project management methodologies.
  • Able to champion the professional practice of project management
  • A graduate with a strong numeracy component.
  • Someone who can lead both internal and supplier teams and deliver/maintain a Professional approach to Project Management as a discipline for SVGC working closely with the Programme Manager(s) and Head of Delivery.
  • Someone with strong written and presentational communication skills.
  • Someone who recognises and respects and ideally is experienced in the need and process for public sector scrutiny of major procurement.
  • Be willing to fully engage, be supportive and take on the challenges of working cross- functionally with a wide variety of tasks.
  • Able to build your own network of contacts, share your knowledge and network for mutual benefit, be a fast learner, be willing to make mistakes and get things done.

    – Scheduling and Timescale Risk Analysis
    – Organisational definition and Management
    – Project Management methodologies such as Agile, Scaled Agile or Waterfall
    – Tools such as MS Project or Primavera P6
    – Project Control tools such as Projectworks

You will have …


  • Strong project skills especially in technology delivery
  • Strong analytical skills for project performance analysis and reporting
  • Strong, demonstrable, rapid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Degree (or equivalent) in numerate subjects such as, Mathematic, Engineering, Statistics or Physics.
  • Confident and familiar with a range of tools such as MS Project.
  • Strong configuration control approach and pro-active approach to documentation.
  • Strong client-centred stakeholder management.
  • The willingness and ability to gain UK Security Clearance (SC) as a minimum
  • Willingness to take managed risks and assess impact effectively.
  • Comfortable in inviting challenge and where appropriate involving others in decision making.
  • The ability to identify and address team or individual capability requirements and gaps to deliver current and future work.
  • The ability to motivate a wide range of personality types and situations.
  • Experience in following appropriate financial procedures to monitor contracts to ensure deliverables are achieved.


  • Confident and familiar with public sector procurement methods and scrutiny.
  • Project analysis skills and wide range of toolset experience.
  • Experience of application of Project Management in Defence & Security or other Public Sector
