As the end of the year approaches and our office is now closed for the break, we are celebrating SVGC’s 2025 successes.
And what a year! As MD Andrew Dixon wrote recently, the rate of global change is at an unprecedented level and we congratulate anyone for continuing to do business and deliver value to clients within this degree of volatility.
We’ve had a really interesting 28th year in business – whilst navigating the challenges of the times – and we’re celebrating an awful lot of brilliant, hard work by our ever-growing team.
We asked the team to share their highlights, and here are some of them – and we deliberately include those that aren’t simply the big contract or frameworks wins, but show the everyday moments that are just as important in delivering success for national projects.
We’re always grateful to all our colleagues for working so hard and so well to help us keep delivering immense value and helping the public sector to continue to make great decisions.
Celebrating our Success:
🌟 Were Awarded new Crown Commercial Frameworks across multiple lots (Technology Services #4 lots 1, 2 and 5)
🌟 A new contract with HM Treasury to upgrade their record management systems – giving SVGC the opportunity to make an impact to the efficiency, productivity, and effectiveness of this important Government body.
🌟 Led several feasibility studies for Government department with our Digital Records and Archive Management technologies
🌟 To support our growth and change, we moved offices from Wiltshire to Milton Keynes. Crucially, this was completed with no interruption to staff or the day-to-day running of the business. No mean feat!
🌟 We launched a secure cloud-based service with our partners ANS
🌟 We welcomed our HR business partner, Judith, to help us with expanding our expert team. The candidate experience in our recruitment is so good that even unsuccessful candidates thanked us for their experience
🌟 We have hosted and attended a record number of important events this year as a company as we continue to grow our scope and expertise. We enjoyed the value at the big-hitting ‘usual suspect’ events including DSEI and DPRTE, and also hosted our first joint event with ADS – An SME Defence Symposium held at Larkhill. This delivered real value to attendees with great feedback such as: “Overall the event was excellent, collating a diverse supply chain of SMEs from across defence; on valid topics close to many of our hearts.”
🌟 Whilst at our various events we ensured that we made connections with people who can help us to keep delivering value to the public sector – for example, briefing the Chief Of Defence Logistics at the DPRTE event on the importance of managing Support Requirements
🌟 The usually unsung but absolutely critical actions by our dedicated team of experts – such as identifying a historical error in a large aerospace company’s critical software tool, by identifying that its outputs broke a law of physics. And this was not apparent to the experts in the aerospace company!
🌟 Our commitment to service excellence continues with our ISO accreditations (ISO 9001, ISO 27001 and ISO 14001) with particular mention for the recent award of ISO 20000-1, the internationally recognised standard for IT Service Management (ITSM). A huge shout-out for all the hard work that went into this
🌟 Feedback from our clients in Government departments is incredibly important, and we’re very proud at being singled out as the ‘most cooperative and easiest supplier’ by a central Government department
🌟 Engagement with Data Scientists across Government – including the Cabinet Office and the National Archives who were impressed and keep to exploit our capabilities
🌟 Our Digital Sensitivity Review work goes from strength-to-strength with constant iteration and improvement – including introducing methods for ‘Topical Clustering’, which will provide crucial efficiencies to document selection
🌟 Praised by our sponsors for an important piece of OSINT work by two of our team
🌟 ‘Creating efficiencies’ doesn’t always sound the sexiest but is a crucial part of what we do! Often within exceptionally complex governance structures. One such piece of work will result in improved attendance, outputs and communication across the SATCOM requirements and delivery spheres – yet again, delivering better value for the public sector
🌟 Our work within the Skynet programme over the years has ongoing successes, most recently including: improving capability planning; enhancing governance and decision-making, modelling and optimising satellite deployments, managing risk and threats and providing vital analysis of emerging policies like the Strategic Defence Review – earning consistently positive client feedback
Well done and thank you to all our colleagues at SVGC – we’ve set ourselves up well for 2026.
