Happy New Year to all our current, past and future clients, partners and colleagues. There’s no denying 2021 brought some challenges for everyone as we continued to navigate through the pandemic. However, the support and collaborative working from our customers, partners and suppliers has meant that we have been able to maintain and expand our key focus of helping the public sector make great decisions.
We’re thrilled to be starting the year off with lots of brilliant projects lined up. So much so, that we are on the lookout for brilliant minds to join the team to help us grow and execute our exciting ventures. With 9 roles in total, we’re excited to welcome experienced individuals in Software Engineering, Data Science, Technology Programming and so much more. Check out our job vacancies page to see all current positions.
As we start 2022, we wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their partnerships, reflect on our achievements of 2021 and look forward to a promising year ahead.
In 2021 SVGC gained several additional accreditations; ISO27001 reflecting our shift to digital solutions and the renewal of our ISO44001 accreditation. But what does this mean for our business and clients?
ISO27001 is the information security management standard which is fundamental to SVGC’s role in providing digital solutions integration to clients and management of sensitive client data.
ISO44001 is the formal collaborative business relationships standard and sits as the cornerstone of the SVGC approach. Working collaboratively with our partner companies in accordance with the principles and practice from the standard. Our collaborative work also follows the guidance in ISO44003 which is focussed on small businesses working with large organisations.
FCDO Digital Sensitivity Review
One of the largest (and proudest) projects the SVGC team worked on in 2021 was consulting on and aiding the delivery of FCDO Digital Sensitivity Review. This was an enormous task which required huge amounts of digital files to be selected and taken through a review for publication. This required innovative solutions to ensure records were processed securely and achieve the greatest possible release to the public in a timely and cost-effective manner. TS3 Crown Commercial Service Supplier
Another huge achievement for SVGC this year was winning a position on the Technology Services 3 Crown Commercial Services Framework. We’re looking forward to using our market-leading collaborative skills and expertise in: strategic and enterprise planning; digital transition and transformation; solution architecture; and data analytics to provide information and insights to support even more leaders and teams across Government departments.
TS3 goes beyond traditional Information and Communication Technology (ICT) services, from strategy through to transition and operational deployment with new and future services for technology strategy and data management.
We will be supplying services under the following Lots:
- Lot 1: Technology Strategy Service and Design
- Lot 2: Transition and Transformation
- Lot 3: Application and Data Management
During 2021 we saw a growth in resources at SVGC with the expansion of expertise and experience from our new staff members. We’re pleased to have welcomed four new members of the team; Matt Bentley, Head of Finance, Paige Bunker, Data Scientist, Ian Stephenson, Software and Solution Architect, and most recently Sulaiman Mirza, Data Scientist. We’re thrilled to have new recruits onboard, and they are already delivering amazing results and can’t wait to see the ongoing contributions their experience will bring to SVGC.
Supporting the Community
Through our work we have also been able to make charitable contributions to local causes such as Larkhill Events & Racecourse, a not-for-profit organisation with a charter to provide access to eventing for both the civilian and military riding communities.
We have lots of exciting plans for 2022 including expanding our services within the Space industry. SVGC has been working in the Space Sector for many years including being delighted to be able to support the latest instantiation of UK MOD military grade satellite communications system – Skynet 6 within UKStratCom and Defence Digital. This is an area of growth for the business and responds to the introduction of the UK Space Strategy.
We also plan to further expand our digital and analytics services, employ new recruits in Systems Engineering and are looking forward to new collaborations as well as extending existing collaborations.
