With over 10 years of programme and project management experience across the public and private sectors, Ola specialises in delivering major digital transformation projects, driving change and working collaboratively to achieve objectives and realise the intended benefits.

What are your ‘must haves’ to start the working day?

A cup of coffee is a must! I like to start the day by reviewing my plans and activities, checking my meetings and taking a quick look at any upcoming deliverables. It helps me get organised, understand my priorities and start the day with a clear sense of direction.

What’s your proudest work achievement to date?

One of my most rewarding achievements was the development and delivery of a clinical tool called the Falls Risk Tool. Developed in collaboration with local authorities, it was designed to assess and rank the risk of falls among adults aged over 70 in East Sussex, supporting a more proactive approach to prevention.

It was a significant and complex project, so seeing it through to successful delivery and realising its intended benefits was particularly rewarding. Knowing that the work could help reduce injuries among older people made it all the more worthwhile.

What do you love most about what you do?

I love the process of planning and implementation — taking an idea, developing a clear plan and seeing it through from start to finish. There’s a real sense of satisfaction in bringing all the different elements together, overcoming challenges along the way and reaching the intended outcome.

What does your typical working day look like?

My day usually starts with a coffee and a quick review of my to-do list, which I prefer to keep written down in a notebook. I enjoy ticking tasks off as they’re completed, it’s a simple but satisfying way to keep track of progress and stay focused on priorities.

Around midday, I’ll take a short walk and grab something to eat before returning to the remaining tasks for the day. Having that break helps me reset and approach the afternoon with a fresh perspective.

When you hit a wall workwise, what do you do to help overcome the hurdle?

I tend to go back to the beginning and break the problem down into smaller parts. I call it ‘going back to my corner’, taking a step back to reassess the situation and work through it methodically.

If the problem persists, I’m quick to ask for help. Sometimes all you need is a fresh pair of eyes and a different perspective to see a way forward. I think knowing when to step back and bring others in is an important part of solving problems effectively.
